HYGIENE

It is the basis of good dental health.

Our dental hygienist, Daniela Christen, graduated in 1988 from the Ecole Supérieure Hygiénistes Dentaires Genève (EHDG), will welcome you to maintain and descale (clean) your teeth.

This will help to

– Prevent the onset of periodontal disease (gingivitis, periodontal disease, etc.). Simple bleeding can be a sign of damage to the gums or bone and lead to your teeth loosening.

– Prevent cavities or detect them early.

– Advise you on how to look after your teeth and gums.

Regular visits will help to prevent a large number of problems or to treat them early.

The work of the dental hygienist encompasses the prevention of cavities and gum problems. They use non-surgical treatment to maintain periodontal health and promote good health. Dental hygienists encourage patients to take responsibility for their own health by teaching them about preventive measures. The aim is to reduce the length of essential dental treatment to a minimum.

Dental hygienists detect problems of the gums, periodontium, teeth, tongue and oral mucosa. In the fields of prevention, therapy and cosmetic aesthetics, she provides advice, takes charge of patients and ensures follow-up. It provides information on the causes, consequences and treatment options. She calls in the dentist when a case needs to be clarified or when the treatment required is beyond her competence.

Her dental hygiene treatment forms part of the overall treatment programme planned by the dentist and takes account of the patient’s individual situation.
